Internal organisation and services
Housed in a character building, LA MAISON DES AUTEURS is located in the centre of Angoulême.
Its internal facilities cover some 1000 m², and comprise :
> thirteen individual and group workshops equipped with drafting tables and infographics units where up to 25 authors can work at the same time,
> a computerisation, reprographics and processing room,
> a reading and documentary resources area,
> an exhibition and conference room,
> meeting places : a coffee lounge, a room for meetings.
LA MAISON DES AUTEURS provides creators with information : it offers an annual schedule of career meetings attended by representatives from publishing houses, authors’ unions, editors, legal advisers, etc.
A legal information service on copyright, on the artist’s social status and on issues relating to creative works is also available to authors through an appointment system.
Beyond its prime object which is fostering creativity, LA MAISON DES AUTEURS also seeks to act as a forum for exchanges between the artists and the public. Meetings and exhibitions are organised at regular intervals, especially on the occasion of each of the International Cartoon Festivals held at Angoulême.
